i have a radio shack scanner and i dont get alot of my sequrity or the ploice in mr area .could the channels be scrambled .or is there something that could be wrong

A lot of larger Police Depts have gone digital, depending on the location the Fire dept could be on the same system. Its been that way here inthe Derby City for a few years now. It has made all the older scanners useless. There are new digital scanners available but they are expensive.
