Ball mount in tram tri magnetic mount
I was thinking of running the the tram tri mag mount and replacing stud and coax with hustlers stainless steel ball mount and hustlers stainless steel spring and also with the browning BR 240 coax.Does this sound like a good idea?

Not sure why you'd need the ball mount with the tri-mag? What's wrong with a straight stud? Personally I'm not a fan of mag mounts...but if it gets the antenna in a better location and helps the signals, then there is nothing wrong with that. If you decide to hard mount you might check into one of the puck mounts by Gunny too. They are awesome!
As far as the antenna, I think that's an open coil design, isn't it? I'd be looking at a 10k. They are probably 1/2 the weight of most of the open coil designs I've seen and perform great.
Best of luck.

Re: Ball mount in tram tri magnetic mount
Well I was going to do the ball mount becuase I want to swap out the coax with biger much better coax and not enough clearance to do a standard s0239 mount on the tram mag mount.I will be running a 1x4 into the whole antenna setup and just want to do it the right way but really dont want to drill any holes in my Suburban.

Use some rod coupling nuts to space the mag mount plate, then use a regular 3/8-24 to so-239 mount on the bottom with an elbow. It will be much more water tight. If you have a problem locating the coupling nuts let me know. You should be able to locat some. Usually, the 3/8 std thread ones can be found in 3/4 and 1 inch lengths and with just a slight change in hardware, those 3 nuts and use bolts at both ends, you should be good to go.
