Thats a great looking bracket. It gives me some ideas for my truck. I have a ford ranger and there is not any room under the dash, or not a good place with a stick shift. That mount would work between my seat and shifter. Looks Great.

Thanks for the compliments.
Wedge... it is amazing the lack of "dash" space that I have in my truck. Good luck with your design.

Re: Midnight's Install
I finally finshed the little bit of clean up on the wires. School started this week, plus work, and the two year old... Saturday morning is the only time I had to finish.
You will see coming from under the dash the power, ground, and coax, I am not sure what I am going to do with that (maybe wire loom or something). I orginally was going to route it under the carpet (that is why the hole is in the back of the mount), but when I went to go do that I noticed it was rather warm under there. I decided I did not want to "cook" my cables, although it probably is no hotter than the roof.
Anyway here are the pictures:

Power is fused off the battery running an 8 gauge amp wire kit. Power runs into a fuse block which spilts to the radio and the amp. Radio is triple fused an the amp is double fused (prior to the fuses on the inside). I need to replace the one 30 amp fuse on the radio side of the fuse block with a smaller fuse (currently is a 30 amp), I will drop it to atleast a 20 amp but would prefer to put in a 10 amp if I can find it. Also the fuse under the hood is a 60 amp and I want to make it a 40 amp.
Lastly, I was looking at Gunny's site now that it is back up... I may (eventually when money and the nerve to drill holes in the roof) change my mag mount to one of those pucks.

Great job, I love the mount, just add some 'snakeskin" loom. Very good work.

Re: Midnight's Install
Great looking setup Midnight. I love seeing other people's installs. It can give you so many ideas for ways to install in different situations. It is nice that everything is visible from the driver's seat and within reach. Those fuse blocks are nice too and nice to have located where they are easily accessible.

Re: Midnight's Install
Thats awesome! Nice work. Now you have given me an idea similar to yours for mounting in my Chevy silverado. That would make it much handier to use the radio while driving. Thanks for the idea!
Let us know how it all works out.

Ease of use is great... everything is at your finger tips.Radio Pig wrote: Let us know how it all works out.
Few things that have come up:
Depending on the location of the sun, the chrome reflects into the passangers eyes and can wash out the display
Vibration or shaking - I used tech screws to secure it and these do not pull it tight enough
To fix the shaking I will use (I can't think of the name) a threaded insert that works like a rivet and then I can tighten the mount to hopefully pull the shake out.
Good luck with your install.

Re: Midnight's Install
Gives me some ideas as well. I'm thinking of a few different options for putting a better radio in the Merc instead of just a 75-822.
