Isn't it because of the extra channels they don't use. They were for radio control stuff years back?
Wait, 19 is the last one isn't it? 3,5,7,15,19 I think.
Somebody that is in the know needs to chime in here.

Back in the old days, There was a space between ch 22 and ch 23 In this spot lives ch 24 & 25. Before the 40 channel days we used to add a couple of jumpers on the channel selector and have ch 22a & 22b aka 24 & 25. This jump is still present today on the normal 40 channels so it looks like it carries through on all og the bands. Your still using the same 40 channel selector regardless of which band you are. This is all just a guess and someone whgo knows what they're talking about please chime in.

I am not too sure of it either, but all bands on my Connex are that way right around those channels. The freq's are allways messed up right there. Kinda interesting stuff.

Way back in the olden days I had a Midland 13-882C that when I put the channel knob in between 22 and 23 I'd get channel 27.
