Uniden Grant XL Deadkey Adjustment

I need to adjust my DeadKey on my uniden Grant xl. I think around 1-2 watts as I have a Texas Star 500. Could someone give me instructions on how to do this so I don't have to pay 40 dollars at the cb shop?

AM power is VR10,,,look at the board it will be marked,,,take the cover off speaker side, the VR10 is towards the right side, you'll need a meter and adjust to about 2 watts,,,you'll need a power meter

Radio Shack has a good SWR/Power meter that would work.

and i don't want to use the swr meter on the device i am adjusting i assume?

you'll need an external power meter,,,,like a Rat shack, Dosy ect..., but by the time you buy a meter, you could get an alignment just as cheap by a tech
