Okay don't laugh! But I have an old school Pyramid Phase III 13.8 volt 7 amp power supply. Works great for a regular stock CB. I'm trying to figure out what size fuse I should have in it. It has a 2 amp fuse in it now, but I know back in the day I used what ever was laying around. Any help or educated guess appreciated.
On a side note how big a power supply would you suggest for a cb putting out 80 to 100 watts?
If you're lookin for a bigger power supply, stay away from Pyramid and get the best of the best, Astron. Mike at Radioactive Radios carries Astrons. Some of the other sponsers may also.
I've had this same Pyramid for probably 20+ years. Can't say I'd have a problem buying another one, especially for the price The 3 techs in my area all use Pyramids on their bench and have never had a problem with them either.
The smaller Pyramids are ok but once you get into the larger sizes, you may have problems. I'm no expert on them so maybe someone will pop in and help you.
