I want to THANK everyone for offering me your friendship..and allowing me to become a part of the CBRT Family !

Man, that's awesome. I'm not motivated. I went out and adjusted my wire base antenna but want a real antenna now. Now when the quad gets going you'll really be all over it.

You get a complimentary groping at the airport on your next visit. This isn't some cut-rate groping either, nuh uh, this is the full contact experience! Feel free to use it when you fly down to the Dominican Republic to meet Island in person. No, we aren't going to pay that, but the groping is on us.

That is a great contact. Definately a great job from Island, working with the limited equipment. Shows what 11 meter is capable of.

Heck, could have been anyone I guess. I do it a lot when I hear Worldradio 41. I'll say some random number from Alaska, he'll trip over himself!!

Hey Sporty!
Normally im listening in on 38 LSB ..like everyone else ...then checkout the forum shoutbox to see where everyone wants to QSY to.
Conditions were awsome for me that day ...just about every key of the mic brought contact with somebody.

Me and Critt were QSOing later on 38 LSB right over the noise with no problem.

Looking forward to making contact with you and DRDX ...as long as you give us permission to use the freq ...LOL!

Well, I doubt I'll be heard on ssb anytime soon. My mobile, which is where my signal is, doesn't have SSB delay in the amps and the radio is off frequency on ssb so I'm usually on 28 am. I do want to do more base action but antenna options are limited.

Don't worry there Critter, I wasn't doing and SSB jamaica this week so it was probably authentic, especially if you were on a beam and aimed that way.

I would like to speak with the Voice of the Dominican Republic. I was actually there once on a cruise. I'll be back that way in the winter but I dont' think we stop there this time, but if I do I'd like to meet up. The last time I was there it was a little scary not knowing any locals. It was just me, a girlfriend, a backpack full of beer, and a scary cab ride with some "navigator" named Abraham. They were nice but the authorities there looked very militant yet were friendly.

Oh...well.....you were ok there drdx....the backpack was full of beer....no problems.

That would be awesome to be able to stop in Dominican Republic. Go hang with 820....play on his rig...but ya gotta bring your own batteries!

While in the Navy I made many stops in the Carib. Islands. Had some pretty good times and where I, and anybody else would, aquired a taste for rum. Never made it to DR but we hit a lot of them. Antigua, Barbados, Virgin Islands, Bahamas even a couple of spins around Gitmo Bay, Cuba but we were not allowed to pull in. Probably best.
