Just mounted my external speaker and when i turn on the Talkback i get a really loud squeal without the speaker pluged in the radio talks fine. Any ideas anyone?

Feedback from a big radio, your noise canneling mic is picking up your talkback, mine does it also, a stock radio with the 636 won't do that, try turning down the talkback, or a little on the mic gain,,,I heard you on 18 tonight, and I was tuning the 78 and tried to call ya,,,BUCKEYE 104,,,you might try a Aries model # ASP-25 speaker it will help, I use one in my van and on the base,,,one on ebay right now, I'll PM you

Yep,like bopper said....feedback!! Usually turning down the mic gain helps but I'm not a fan of that :mrgreen:

Easiest fix is to turn it off. :wink:

Might try a higher value resistor to quiet down the talkback a bit... that is if it's a radio that uses the resistor mod for talkback.

I'm not sure if this would help or not but you could try moving the speaker farther away from the radio. That might help...
