Knight 577 compressor schematic
Okay peoples I need a big favour, does anyone have a schematic for a knight 577c compressor. I recently bought one on ebay and there's a couple of broken wires and without a schematic it's hard to determine where they go. It seems that the schematics are hard to find, but there must have been quite a number of these kits sold in the states. If anything it would be great if someone who owns one of these could help me out with wiring details.
Thanks and fingers crossed.
WW535 Jeremy.

Re: Knight 577 compressor schematic
Hi WW535,
Not sure if this will help but might be worth a try, There is a forum for KnightKits and looks like it is still active, someone might have a manual or schematic. I remember the compressors, sold them when I worked for Allied - Radio Shack in the early seventy's. I may start looking to see if there are other forums for like Radio Shack, Lafayette, Heathkit, would be interesting to see if there is and I know any of the members.

Re: Knight 577 compressor schematic
Thanks guys, I'm surprised how tuff it is to find. Will have a look and in the mean time I would love to hear from somebody who owns one. Wouldn't be hard to see where the wires go. Thanks again.
Jeremy.

Re: Knight 577 compressor schematic
I recently found one of these that appears to be in good shape with a few exceptions: The audio line with the red center conductor coming in from the back is tied off to the far right 3-leg terminal strip with nothing else hooked to it. The red wire from the left terminal on the same strip that appears to go to point F on the circuit board is cut in the middle. And how is the chassis mounted to the case? There are two screw holes in the bottom of the case that appear to line up with two recessed tabs with holes on the chassis, but no hardware is provided. Were there Tinnerman nuts on the tabs originally that received screws coming up from the bottom? Please help if you can! Thanks & 73.

Hello Bombero >>>
You are absolutely right. Here is the link to the particular information for the KnightKit C-577 compressor: www dot manualman dot com/index.cfm?v_link=product_detail&v_key=76636&v_model=c-577 and the base price is $9.25. I just found another website with the same material for twelve bucks, but this one is even better. I will be transporting the C-577, along with a lot of other historic gear, down to Pahrump, Nevada (Area 51, Art Bell, etc.) later this week for donation to Foster Paulis, W4HCX. Foster runs a classic (tube-type) radio repair facility and communications museum an hour west of Las Vegas. If you ever get questions about repairing, displaying, or needing information on early tube gear, be sure to mention his name as a reference. His complete contact information is available under his callsign on QRZ dot com.
Thanks again,
Craig, KL4E
