Just curious... Anyone ever try to convert a European CB like the Midland/Alan 48? I like some of the radios they use over there but did'nt know if they could be modded for 11 meters.

Alan/midland is 11 meter, AM/FM ,,they have 80 channels ,,,and you can freeband alot with them

26.965..CB, to 27.405 (PR27) 40 FM CEPT "EURO" channels 10kHz spacings with gaps
Allowed in the UK since 1988, this is now a Euro band as agreed by an ERC decision
in 1996. These CEPT channels are the original USA freqs, known as the "mid" channels.
Shared with ISM, and up to 27.28= with SRD (models - AM on colour coded channels)

Oh, ok... So, the Midland/Alan radios have the US CB freqs. plus the euro freqs. Cool!
Wonder if they would be worth the extra money to try here in the states.

Perhaps.... just bear in mind though, that most of the English radios are running FM though...
