D-104 To Siltronix 1011D Wiring

#365538

Post by Kikker »

I have a D-104 DuKane 7C40 Non Amplified microphone that I'm trying to figure out how to wire it to my Siltronix 1011D radio. The mic only has 2 insulated wires and a shield. I think I need a 4 or 5 wire cord don't I? I'm not sure if the DuKane 7C40 is wired the same as other non-amplified D-104 microphones or not. I haven't been able to find any information. As most of you know, the Siltronix take a 1/4" plug that only has 3 solder connections on it which means at least 2 of the wires are soldered together on one of the terminals.

Does anyone have the schematic of this microphone wiring setup and how to wire it to the 1/4" plug? I have include a picture of the bottom of the DuKane 7C40 base wiring.

Any help will be appreciated.

On a Siltronix 1011D the 1/4" phono plug is wired,
Tip = TX
Ring = Audio
Sleeve = Ground/Shield
Since the shield is always ground and has the white wire running inside it that would make the white audio, now all you need is the wire that is closed when the PTT is squeezed for the TX.

Looks like a nice Cobra setting on that desk. Black should be the TX, this makes the switch on others.
