I see that you have a SWP Connex. Are you thinking that you can do better than that?

i'm not a big fan of the digitly compressed audio when the whole prosess is all anolog. i also hate the top gun modulators, when running an amp and you have the compressor on it saturates the trasistor in the amp and the audio sounds like compleate garbage. in my opinion there not worth the money just get yourself a good mic.

compression
I use a digital effects processor every time while transmitting and I run all of my gear through it. Then it is amplified out through my Dave Made. The compression mode is a constant. I can stack only two effects at a time but the comp is a constant. It will really punch you through. I installed a Sparktune from Sparky's in an older Grant XL and got great output. Had to turn the mic gain down as it was being processed but man, it was nice. Dead key about 1 and swinging to where? I am not sure. Drove the heck out of my old mobile amp. You just got to shop around for one that works for ya.
i use an s9 and mine has better audio with it on, and it looks very nice on a scope clean and loud even on ssb i have guys with icom 7800 and kenwoods wanting to know what i`m using because it sounds so good.KEEP-IT-REAL wrote:I've seen one on a scope. looks like crap.
