I have a Galaxy DX-949 that pushes 25w peak on AM, but only peaks 4w on SSB. Since I'm getting an East Coast 1x2 with an SSB delay, I would like to get the 949 DK down to 1w, and the swing to around 15w, while upping the SSB power to as much as possible. Would there be any way to do this? I've only turned the AM high power VR up to get the DK to 18W, and up the AM modulation to peak at 100%. I just got into radios a little while ago, and have no experience tuning radios. If anyone could help me with this I would really appreciate it!
The VR's for this radio are as follows:
VR1 AM S-Meter
VR12 Driver Bias
VR2 SSB S-Meter
VR3 SSB Squelch
VR13 SSB ALC
VR4 AM Squelch
VR14 AM High Power
VR6 SSB Carrier Balance
VR15 AM Modulation Meter
VR7 TX Offset
VR17 SSB Power
VR16 AM Modulation
VR9 RF Meter
VR18 AM Low Power
VR10 Final Bias
VR1 10.240
Also any general info on tuning and making my audio sound better on my 949 would be great also.
