They are talking about the number of transistors in am amplifier.
Example if you hear 8 pill there are 8 transistors in it, or a 2x4= 6 pill means you have 2 transistors driving 4 transistors. Hope this clears everything up for you.
Please go on......i suspect the more pills you have the more power you have???? is a single pill as good as multi pills???? does it have to do with amps or watts or both???? we newbies might all learn together. isn't this Internet/computer thingies great. of course to have a GREAT board and members does help very much. not like some other boards. you guys are the BEST to put up with us that are somewhat lacking on info. thanks much from all the newbies I'm sure i can speak for them.........
We were all new at this at one time or another so no worries. Yes the pills you have the more power you will have, the farther your signal will travel and if everything is done right you will be louder too.
YOU ALSO HAVE DIFFERENT TYPE OF PILLS OR TRANSISTORS AND EACH ONE IS RATED AT A DIFFERENT WATTAGE. HERE A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF PILLS BUT I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT EACH IS RATED AT. I'M SURE SOMEONE CAN POST IT. IF NOT I WILL LOOK THEM UP LATER
