TRC-226 tune up points?

I've tried google already with no luck, not even a users manual. Has anyone had any luck giving a TRC 226 h.t. a tune? Is modulation easily adjusted? Not wanting to clip or remove anything, just hoping for a little more UMPH from the audio. Thanks!!

Most hand helds have the basic audio section so there isn't a potentiometer to turn up to get better modulation so it would be a matter of playing with the caps and resistors values to increase it, sometimes reducing the carrier wattage will bump up the modulation too. I looked around for info as well, closest thing would be the Cobra HH35, probably the same circuitry in a renamed case.

Thank you for the Tips MDYoungblood !! I'm hoping it's not a bad cartridge or element in the mic, has weak audio, but do not have a hand-held mic to try. Anyone have the pin outs for the speaker and mic jacks? Thanks

MFJ makes a small mic/speaker that I believe will work on your HT.

I've got an original lapel mic/speaker coming, I tried a mic/speaker for my Midland 75-820/822 HT and immediately shorted out and keyed up the radio, so hoping that the radio shack mic works. 73s
