Amplifier on PA output

#389276

Post by BigRed2294 »

Hey guys, I have a quick question. I'm going to put a small amplifier on the PA output on my cobra 29. My question is, can I just solder the power and ground wires for the amplifier to the back of the power input plug inside my radio.

What type of PA are you talking about,, something like the RFX75/85 does connect in on the power leads and you have to increase the size of both leads and fuses.

Just trying to amplify the output from the 3.5mm jack for the PA. I got it working but I have a lot of engine noise when the truck is running. I'm going to try moving the power wires farther away from my speaker wires and see if that fixes it.

Sorry, I was thinking an RF amplifier. The "public address" jack has less than 5 watts output but any audio amplifer will work, just remember the jack is mono.
