Any Experience with President Bill FCC ?

Haven't been around much lately, but I'm still here.

Anyone here have any experience or input regarding the President Bill FCC ? I bought a new truck, and now have very limited Space. My old F-150 had the RCI2970-N4 modified mounted up front and center. There is NO WAY I can fit that radio into a Toyota Tacoma. I'm looking for a much smaller radio, which the Bill fits (I know no sideband) and if needed, put some juice behind the rear seat. My needs and space available have changed. Was hoping someone had some insight into that tiny radio.

Once I get a power supply that can support the RCI I can use it as a base. $$$! I had a high output alternator and AGM battery to run it mobile.

Mobile needs now are simple. Mostly monitoring 19 while making frequent trips to Dallas and back to visit family, and offroading with a group of folks that aren't HAM's.

Any info appreciated

Thanks, I hadn't seen that. I've watched a few YT videos, but there's no "Real World" info or opinions. All bench tests.

I don't think they have passed certification in the USA yet, could check with 88 Radio and see if they have them.

It's now sold as "President Bill FCC" in the U.S. I just got it in the mail. I will let folks know how it goes. As a fella with a very small footprint for a CB, as most Offroad folks are, I will report on my experience with it to let them know if this is a viable option as a limited space radio. 4" x 4" x 1".

Wow, it was passed rather quickly by the FFC tech's there, yes it is a tiny radio. hope it works well for you and do keep us informed. another small radio with a little punch would be the Stryker SR94HPC.

Well, I am impressed with the President Bill. It works great for what it is...a very basic AM only barefoot 4W radio. I had an Astatic D-104 mic wired for it because there's no Mic gain in the radio.

I set up the ol' Galaxy DX959 in my apartment and pointed the video camera at it to record. Went outside to talk at different level setting on the mic to figure out where to set it.


I originally put up an Everhardt 4' fiberglass antenna, but even it was a bit much for the light duty mount I'm using.


So I contacted a CB shop in Dallas while there for the Christmas holiday, and he was able to get a President Iowa antenna from the distributor for me. Much lighter, and more flexible antenna. Better for off-road trails. And I receive better with it.


It actually tuned rather well considering all of the variables.


I've gotten great reports with clear, quality audio. Not bad for a TINY little basic radio. Perfect for the Tacoma!

That was a hard purchase ($$$) but when I put a RCI 2970N4 in my previous truck I had to make darn sure everything was ready for it. From high-output alternator, to AGM battery, to a perfectly tuned antenna system. I used a year end bonus to get the radio...the analyzer, alternator, and battery hit my wallet good.
