Germany, Australia, Ireland, Great Britain...just to name a few...

Sometimes barefoot on ssb, sometimes running little over 500w on AM, mostly on the base with my 4 element MaCo...

Australia and South Africa. Did both off using an Avanti Sigma II antenna @ 40ft, Uniden Washington base, D104 mic, stock output.

Port Lavaca, TX. to the West Indies. Barefoot 148GTL @ 7w LSB 38. Home built StarDuster Antenna w/ 102" whip as top element at 36' elev.
Sea Drift, TX. to HI. Mobile on Uniden PC66 w/ 225 kicker. 4' Topload Firestick antenna. Jumper cables attached to front snatch lug and dropped into San Antonio Bay.
Holly Beach, LA. to PR. Mobile on Uniden PC66 w/ Palomar LD 450. 102" Whip. I was fishing that evening and heard chatter on 23. Contact in PR and DR. Down in the Keys too all the way up to NC.
Texas City **Censored** to Corpus and St. Petersburg, FL. Mobile on Uniden PC66 w/ Palomar LD 450. 102" Whip. Yea, I was fishing then too.

This was a contact with a member here (drdx-a.k.a 198) He was on a cruse ship out around the Bahamas using a radio he took abroad with him and a Wilson antenna....No amp, just a stock cobra radio... Not sure why the video is sideways... it didn't use to be...just tilt your head.

Back in the early 80's, Cobra 142GTL, PDLII, BlackCat 150 amp. I still have this little amp and it still works. England, Greece, South Africa.
I have a better station now, know a bit more about radio, and when conditions are right I can talk all over.

Dx'ing to Australia on 38 lsb...(had one guy in Louisiana who I thought was in Australia because of his accent :mrgreen: ) This was 4 years ago this month, and probably only talked to Australia maybe once or twice since...just haven't had conditions in a while down under.
