Looking for opinions

Post by Fantasma25 »

I have an opportunity to get a Ranger AR3500 100 watt model in great shape plus a Magnum by Palomar Amp, just trying to get some feedback to see if it would be a good investment. Person is asking for $400. I already have a Ranger AR3500 and they are pretty decent radios. Not sure about the Palomar. It is supposed to do about 300-500.

Well...If the radio does 100 watts by itself and the amp is a 200-500w, the radio is going to be too much for that amp...

Jesse,
I agree, I have another radio that I can use that amp with. I am just trying to get feed back on the price that is being asked for both items.

A local has been playing with one Ranger AR-3500 by Clear Channel Corporation for a couple days, it really needs a good tech to realign it. First, they said it is a 100 watt radio but I don't see it doing that with the finals (2166 driving 2x 2312's) that they have in them, 30/35 max. The amp is a good model Palomar, has a good delay for SSB, if it isn't over driven sounds good on both AM and SSB. Price wise it depends on their shape, appearance, etc. For that price it is a matter of "want" or "need".
