CB Radio Talk

I have used the handle " MR B " on CB for many years.
I see that most of the people on the CB channels us numbers instead of words for their handle.
Is this the way now ... do I need to change my " MR B " handle to a number?

From what i can tell. On AM it's what ever you like. Numbers or name. But when it comes to SSB. It seems most people prefer to use numbers.

Like Beachbum24 said, it really depends on the mode, "AM" most use a handle and on "SSB" most use call numbers as identification. I rarely get on AM but when I do I still use "321,, Middle of Maryland!!", just out of habit.

Me...I use it all...AM...SSB...in DX doesn't matter...."Jesse James in Dallas, 854 in the Star walkin on threw"....

Then on the outside chance one of the forums i'm a member on decides they want to have a DX Contest, then whatever Forum is having the contest I add their initials to my numbers...

For instance, if "CB Radio Talk" was holding a contest, my call sign would be "CBRT-854".....

If the POTUS was having a DX contest tho, think my call sign would be "Deplorable-854"...

I use Triple dog on the bowl and 295 local and wr2950 on ssb
