First tune radio for best forward swing an equal power on 1 /20 /40 - This is typically about 5 watts of key with 14 or so peak - Remove the cap just in front of the modulation adjustment - on the solder side cut the trace to the left leg of VR about a 1/4 of the way down that used to lead to the removed cap - Now remove R44 an install where cap was removed - Add a wire from the far left leg of R44 now installed where cap was - run wire to the rear hole of where R44 used to be - You can now adjust your dead key to just about anything you like from 1/2 watt to a maximum key by adjusting the VR
This is a fully tested modification
