New Stryker 955 talk back wont shut off

As the subject says I just picked up a new 955 and noticed that the talk back does not fully shut off. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do to correct the issue?

If the pot won't shut it off completely, maybe installing oh, I don't know, maybe about a 500 Ohm resistor in series with the pot would cut down the audio enough to where you won't hear it. I don't know what size the talkback pot is, so if it's something like a 1K that would be enough. If it's a 10K pot, then maybe try a 1K resistor.

It is a dual pot, one for the talkback, (inner knob) and the outer knob is RF power, neither have a detent or off (click). Turned counterclockwise there shouldn't be any audio (talkback) heard. All the radios I have seen this turns off the talkback. Not sure how your setup is but maybe if you use an external speaker or headphone, you can still hear yourself. If this is a new radio I would contact Stryker for a repair.
