Mic adapter for the Uniden 980

Been using the adapter included with the radio. Looking for a more flush fit adapter, as I don't want to change from my 4 pin mics. Any suggestions?

I use those short adapters with my President McKinley, and have one I use with my Cobra 2000 GTL also so I can use the standard 4 pin Mic's...

Personally tho, I like those pig-tail type adapters a little better like what came with your radio because they don't stick out off the front of the radio 2 or 3 inches like the short metal ones...

Been using the factory supplied for a couple years and find the extra length of cord distracting. Radio is mounted above windshield and that coupler hangs right in front of my face. Tried the stock mic and was not happy with it.
Time for a change.

I use the adapters if I'm working on a radio but really don't care for them in everyday use, both the pigtail type or the short plug type puts a lot of strain on the microphone jack. My suggestion would be to wire the mic to the radio and forget the adapter.

I knew that would come up. I have several radios in use and all but one use a 4 pin mic.
