Think of skip (propagation) as a roller coaster, you have that steep slow climb to the highest point of the track, then a long fast ride down to the end. Right now we are on the climb, the top should be reached in a couple years give or take. Scientist's can't say when cycle 25 started or even if it has started, but when it gets to the top you may wish it was over with.

Do you talk skip... if you talk SKIP, then you know you can still talk skip when in either the progression or regression of the WAVE.

Using the right amount of power and using the best frequencies help... which frequencies I don't know for sure, I run around shouting out and hoping I can talk to someone.

HAMs have a bunch of frequencies to run through, CBers really don't but seem to find what they need.

Just get out there and use what you have, today you will talk next door and tomorrow you will talk to the world !

when you say you wish it was over with...is it because certain frequencies are train wrecks? Thanks

Thanks, yes trying to talk skip. Ive got back into radio from a long pause. Work, house, kids, etc. Still getting my antenna just right, radio tuned, etc. I do know that it rolls in from time to time, just would like to have a better grasp of when- totally understand that it could happen anytime and drop off quickly too. Is there any forcast for good or bad days on 11 meter?

Actually the entire band will be a train wreck for a couple years, last cycle I couldn't talk to a neighbor a 1/2 mile away but every where else was booming in.
