A half-wave antenna will also usually require some form of choke to ensure that the coax doesn't become part of the antenna system."

so this could be a triple loop in ~3" to 4" dia. ?
is there another way, such as a capacitor spliced in at the ant. base?
i'm just kicking this idea around, have to think it thru but all our brains are better than 1.
the application of this would be on a plastic bodied car

Here is a link that show different common mode choke configurations, impedance vs frequency. Air core is what your describing.
