Cobra xlr

Over the summer I picked up 4 Radio's at one yard sale for two bucks a piece.one of them is a Cobra xlr that has been stepped on or I should say stomped on pretty heavily.i don't think I have seen so many mods in one radio.i know these are really liked for all the things that can done to them,but there was so much done to it I almost can't comprehend them.i would like to save it if possible I'm getting ready to replace 1 cap that had a melt down.but there is so much going on with this thing that i would need to send pics with descriptions.one thing I'm curious about is that right next to the pll chip is a radio crystal in the c199 spot that is 10.160 but hot glued to is a10.240 crystal.for a quick swap I'm guessing.just wondering what all capabilities are for this thing.any thoughts?also when I opened it up there was a baggy taped to the inside of the case with about a dozen other crystals.

Hey guys, I need a little help with cobra 139 xlr I recently got back on the air.All seems good but it drifts off frequency a little on ssb.The clarafier is modified.I really would like to fix this as the radio does tx and rx rather well.The whole radio has modded pretty hard.Hopefully this could be an easy fix?
