Got my mobile setup finished. SWP General Lee backed up with a Fatboy 1x2 and a Wilson 5000. It's hollerin'! I have a OLD base setup now but it is just a Navajo and an old three piece antenna. I want a pretty good setup to run in the house. I don't mind buying good stuff but I like things right the first time. The only catch is I need to stay under 50 feet overall with my antenna. Don't need anything else for the cropduster to try and dodge!

What radio, antenna would be the best? Wanting to run barefoot now and add an amp when I get the urge. Just wanting to chat about and give my son a chance to get the bug!

Thanks,

Scott

Well you will have many choices on base antenna's , you will need to decide if you want a Fiberglass or metal antenna , on the radio I would go with a Galaxy 2517 or a RCI 2980 and i would definitely go with a radio from Sparky's or radio active's...So if you give us a little more info we may be able to help ya little more ....

I have a 30 foot mast that has a TV antenna on it now but I can take it down(thanks dish)! I would like to stay with something not real large but that will be a good omni antenna. Guess this is where I need the most help! What are the better base antennas and how high do they need to be?

Some of those Navajos like you have are real good talkers. You say you already have a 3 piece antenna? Could it be an A99? Those work well too. If it's still in good shape, you may have all you need to put a respectable base on the air.
Channel 32, or sometimes 33 and or 34......
