Lincoln 2 plus V3 protection diode
Got a Lincoln 2 plus V3 with blown protection diode. Anyone know diode/location? There are 2 large diodes where power comes in. One mounted horizontal, other vertical. Thinking one of these. Cannot find a service manual for this radio online.

Re: Lincoln 2 plus V3 protection diode
I haven't worked on a Lincoln radio, you can find the schematic for it online. The diode in question I believe is the one directly behind the 2 large ferrites, it's standing up with the upper lead shaped like a "U". Both diodes can easily be checked with a multimeter without removing them, just touch the meter probes to the leads, if it read short, switch the probes around and reads short again it is bad. You can check both that way. I think the one that is flat on the board is for the AM regulator.
