Trying to get some help on a cobra 29ltd that receive is fine but no output. The tx light turns red and I can hear it on a test radio but the meter shows no wattage output at all. Final test good

Meter might not be working...Try getting a "radio check" from someone?

Could also be a bad solder joint...On my RCI 2980wx not too long ago it didn't have any output, but receive worked just fine, and talk back was working just fine...ended up being a solder joint just needed tacked down...easiest way to find those problems is to take the bottom cover off the radio so you can see the bottom side of the board, then use a pencil and go along all the solder points with the eraser end while the radio is ON, and watch the meter and look for changes...guess you would need to also be keying the mic and saying "auuuuddiiooo" at the same time.

I hooked another radio.up meter works fine it's a astatic 600 meter . The meter on the radio doesn't move either on transmission it does on receive. The final and driver is good I even replaced them to be sure and still no wattage. The tx light turns red on transmit and it can be heard on a test radio I use a popcicle stick to push on the board and solder joints to look for solder issues and I can't find any problem so I am not sure what else could be bad. The audio chip I am thinking is good I have receive and the pa works tried a brand-new mic as well still no out put wattage

Do you have an oscilloscope?

You say it can be heard on a test radio, but outputs no wattage. Can you be more specific? Is the test radio picking up the modulated signal or just a carrier? Is there at least 1 watt of dead key coming out of the radio or is it barely received?

The radio has no wattage output at all and yes I can hear it on my test radio modulation that is

If the test radio is in the same room you can still have a bad final. test radio could be picking up from driver.
Try test radio further away like other side of your property.
