Working on a bearcat 980ssb I have hooked up to my Hp 5384A frequency counter Been probing test points and cant find the one for USB LSB frequency? Need a little help please

Hello everyone

Figured out test point 302, rear of radio in front of antenna jack will show transmit frequency. Probed with Hp frequency counter. On Am just probe and key radio. If your trying to get Usb and Lsb frequency use 1000hz tone while keying. Works perfectly

Thanks for the info! Usually those radios are dead on right out of the box (new) but someone may have tinkered with ones that are bought used. A simple 1k tone can be downloaded off of iTunes, I’ve used one for years! It will get you close.
