I have a new in the box cobra 29 XLR.. I went to play with it the other night.. lights up as pretty as can be, but has to transmit or recieve.. I know it's a 40 year old radio.. but it's also new.. there's no visual cap leakage. But I figured that was the problem.. is there a section I should start replacing that caps at that may bring it back to life?.. thanks in advance!

First thing I would look at on the pcb is corrosion from the solder acid and cold solder joints. Might try a different mic too!
