Magnum S6 ?
I had my heart set on a General Lee, but ran up on a Magnum S6 that's been tinkered with a little bit. It's a used radio, but wasn't' used more than a couple of days because the owner said he wanted SSB so he traded it in for an S9. The only thing I didn't like about the General Lee was that it doesn't have a freq counter, the S6 does.
Are these Magnum radios a quality unit?
Would it be a good radio for a base station?
How easily are they modified?
Thanks.

I would say it would work very well for a base radio and also a mobile i bought a S-3 to try it and it was ok and then i bought the SWP General Lee and needless to say i don't have the S-3 anymore the Gen Lee in my opinion is a much better radio like i said in my opinion my Pop's has a S-3 bought his from the same guy i bought mine from he likes his perty good had it for about year and a half now he likes it but it wont talk like my General Lee will i can talk over him allday. I think the TopGun Modulator thing is a crock myself i cant tell any diffrence in it when the ole man is far away and flips his lil modulator switch no diffrence that i can tell. But as far as a good radio i think it will probably give you years of good service since Pop's has been in his Petercar since day 1 and no probs yet so they can apparently take a beaten.
I'll explain the Top Gun Modulator, when you have a 40 watts radio with an adjustable RF output, and have it adjusted all the way down to near zero key watts and talk the radio will swing to probably 1/2 to a little more of its watts, when the TopGun is on, do the same the radio will swing from zero to hero,,LOL, generally from low to full wattage,
