Here is a stud mount i'm thinking of buying to make a mount with, but I don't see what keeps the ant. from shorting out on the mount. I know there is a spacer involved somewhere but I keep thinking you need two spacers. Please explain

If you look closely the center lead is isolated from ground...being it's an SO-239 connection at the mount. Looks like a decent product.

I personally hate using PL259's at the connection myself though...but lots of guys use them without any problem.

What do you use then? Ring terminals?

Question, do you have or need to run the nylon spacer on your antenna. I have the 10k antenna and I don't think I have the nylon washer in place.

you should run the nylon washer, it keeps you from a direct short,,,,if you don't your SWR's will though the roof

Dead short to ground=blown final(s) :( Use the washer(s)!
