Numbers in handles?

I see some, in fact quite a few, Handles that have 3 digits sometimes used. Example Freight Train 901 or just plain 901 or just Freight Train. What does this mean?

Mine is just my DX handle, derived from my Smith & Wesson Model 629 that I hunt with. Some folks belong to DX clubs and use their assigned club numbers, others just make them up, can help when there's two different "Night Train" 's, for example.

Some are set from clubs, some are just numbers from significant things in our life. The main reason for numbers is when DXing you can hear the numbers easier sometime than words/names. Mine is 353 for 3-triplet girls, 5-my date of birth, 3-last digit of birth year, ToolBox- is the handle my Dad used and still uses, so I have taken it over since I am a mechanic too.. LOL!
